Kendamil Goat out of stock, everywhere you look? You are not imagining it. On September 11, 2026, Kendamil's own US store listed both Goat Infant Formula and Goat Toddler Formula as sold out, and US retail shelves have been thin for weeks.

The good news is that this is not a discontinuation, and your baby does not have to go without a goat milk formula.

Here is what Kendamil itself says about the situation, what changed in the US recipe, why European stock follows a different pipeline, and which goat milk formulas make the smoothest bridge if you need one now. Breastfeeding remains the recommended starting point where it works for a family. Formula is an option alongside it, not an argument against it.

No. This is the first thing worth settling, because an empty shelf and a discontinued product look identical from the outside.

Kendamil's own update page for Goat Infant formula states that Kendamil is confirmed as a permanent, long-term brand for families in the United States, following completed clinical studies and FDA review. The same page tells parents to expect an updated recipe arriving on shelves.

A brand that is walking away from a market does not run clinical studies and print new labels for it. What you are seeing is a supply gap during a transition, not an exit.

Two things are happening at once, and they compound.

European formulas reached American families through a temporary FDA pathway created during the 2022 formula shortage. Moving from that temporary arrangement to permanent status means meeting US infant formula regulations in full, which for Kendamil Goat required ingredient and label changes.

Old stock sells through while new stock is still being produced and shipped. That gap is where an out of stock notice lives.

Goat milk formula has grown from a niche category into a mainstream one. When a well known goat tin goes quiet, the demand does not disappear, it moves to whatever is left, and the next product empties faster.

Two honest caveats. Nobody outside the company can give you a restock date, and we are not going to invent one. And a shelf being empty in one country does not mean the product has stopped being made.

Kendamil has published the specifics, and they are smaller than the word reformulation suggests. According to the brand's own update page, the changes made to meet US requirements are:

• Calcium: calcium lactate removed, replaced with calcium citrate and calcium phosphate
• L-carnitine: no longer listed as a separate ingredient, because it is now supplied naturally by the dairy components
• Vitamin C: sodium ascorbate changed to ascorbic acid
• Iron: updated to iron pyrophosphate

Kendamil also notes two things parents will notice with their senses rather than on the label. The powder and the prepared bottle may look slightly more golden, and the taste may be milder and creamier with fewer strong goat notes.

One preparation instruction changed as well. Kendamil previously advised letting boiled water cool for 30 minutes before mixing and now advises 5 minutes. That brings it in line with the approach US health authorities describe for killing Cronobacter without destroying nutrients.

This is the part most out of stock articles skip, and it is the part that actually solves the problem for a lot of families.

The US shortage is specific to the US supply chain and the recipe transition inside it. European retailers stock the European version of Kendamil Goat, produced in Kendamil's Cumbrian factory in the United Kingdom, and shipped from EU inventory. That pipeline is separate from American shelves.

The differences that actually matter when you are choosing a bridge.

All three meet EU infant formula standards, which set minimum and maximum levels for protein, fat, carbohydrate, vitamins and minerals. Nutritional adequacy is not the variable here. Tolerance, certification preference and availability are.

Goat to goat is the easiest switch there is, because you stay inside the same protein family. It still deserves a week rather than an evening.

A pattern that works:

• Days 1 and 2: replace one feed a day with the new formula
• Days 3 and 4: two feeds a day
• Days 5 and 6: three feeds a day, then complete the changeover

Prepare each formula separately according to its own tin before combining them in a bottle. Scoop ratios differ between brands, so measuring one product with another product's scoop changes the concentration.

Expect stool colour and consistency to shift during the first week. That is normal on any formula change. Call your pediatrician for a rash, vomiting rather than spitting up, blood in the stool, refusal to feed, or a baby who is noticeably less alert.
