Holle Organic Goat Formula Stage Pre is a Demeter biodynamic infant formula for newborns and young babies from birth. It is the one of the first goat milk options in the Holle lineup designed for use from day one, with a carbohydrate profile that uses lactose as the sole source of carbohydrate and contains no starch whatsoever. Made with whole goat milk powder from Demeter-certified biodynamic farms and manufactured in Germany, it reflects the certification standard Holle applies to any product in its range. Breast milk is the best nutrition for newborns, and this formula is intended as a clean, organic alternative when breastfeeding is not possible or is being supplemented. Holle and Demeter Biodynamic Farming
Holle was founded in 1933 in Switzerland, with the manufacture of the organic baby food located in Germany. Its connection to biodynamic farming runs deep, and Demeter certification, one of the world's leading standard for biodynamic agriculture, covers most of Holle's infant range. Demeter certification audits the entire farm ecosystem, not just the final product, ensuring no synthetic pesticides, fertilizers, or genetically modified organisms are used at any point.

The First Goat Milk Formula for Newborns
Stage Pre alongside the Stage 1 are Holle's goat milk formulas formulated specifically from birth. Its carbohydrate source is lactose only, with no added maltodextrin or starch.
The formula is based on whole goat milk powder. Goat milk is naturally higher in A2 beta-casein protein compared with standard cow milk, and some families find this appealing. However, goat milk formula is not hypoallergenic. Due to significant cross-reactivity between goat and cow milk proteins, it is not appropriate for infants with a diagnosed or suspected cow's milk protein allergy. Ingredients and Composition
The carbohydrate source is lactose only, with no starch added. This reflects the composition preferred for the earliest feeding stage, when a newborn's gut is still developing and simplicity in carbohydrate intake matters. Vegetable oils are sunflower oil and rapeseed oil, and this formula contains no palm oil.
DHA is provided by oil from the microalgae Schizochytrium sp. ARA is present, sourced from Mortierella alpina oil. The formula is free from artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives.

How to Prepare Powdered Formula
- Boil fresh water for each feed and let it cool to the temperature printed on your can. Powdered infant formula is not sterile, so the CDC and WHO advise that water at about 158°F (70°C) lowers the risk of Cronobacter, especially for newborns and higher-risk infants. Follow your can's instructions and ask your pediatrician which approach is right for your baby.
- Pour about two-thirds of the required water into a clean, sterilized bottle.
- Use only the scoop provided with your formula pack (sizes may vary). Add the correct number of level scoops - 1 scoop per 1 oz / 30 ml of water.
- Close the bottle with the nipple and cap. Shake vigorously until all powder is dissolved.
- Add the remaining water and shake again.
- Cool to drinking temperature (approx. 98 °F / 37 °C). Always test the milk temperature before feeding to avoid scalding your baby.
Important Information
- Only use the scoop included in the package.
- Do not make feeds weaker or stronger than indicated. Do not add extra water, scoops, or other ingredients.
- Always prepare fresh. Do not prepare bottles in advance. Discard any leftovers after each feed.
- Never heat bottles in the microwave - hot spots can cause burns.
- Once opened, use formula within 21 days. Never use beyond the expiration date printed on the box/tin (format: day/month/year).
- Avoid storing formula in hot or humid environments.
