HiPP Dutch Junior Formula Stage 4 for Toddlers 24 Months and Up
HiPP Dutch Stage 4 is a toddler growing-up milk (HiPP Junior Combiotik / Groeimelk) for children from 24 months (2 years). Made with skimmed cow's milk, it supports the nutritional needs of active toddlers as they move toward a full family diet, providing iron, DHA, and key vitamins and minerals alongside regular meals. Parents are always welcome to discuss toddler nutrition with a pediatrician to determine whether a growing-up milk is appropriate for their child.
HiPP's Long Tradition in Baby Nutrition
Founded in 1899 by Joseph and Maria Hipp in Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm, Germany, HiPP has produced infant and toddler milks for over 125 years. The company is still family-run in its fourth generation under Stefan Hipp.
This growing-up milk is produced in Germany to EU food-safety standards for young-child milks. It does not carry an EU organic certification and is not Demeter certified.
A Growing-Up Milk for Toddlers from 24 Months
By 24 months most toddlers are eating a wide variety of solid foods and transitioning away from formula as a primary nutrition source. HiPP Dutch Stage 4 is designed as a nutritional complement to meals, not a replacement for a varied toddler diet. It provides iron, DHA, and vitamins that can be difficult to cover through food alone at this stage.
The HiPP Dutch line continues the Combiotik approach through Stage 4, with GOS (galacto-oligosaccharides) from lactose and natural lactic acid cultures.
Ingredients and Composition
The protein base is skimmed cow's milk, supplying intact, non-hydrolyzed cow's milk protein. The primary carbohydrate is lactose, with GOS prebiotics from lactose also present. No starch or maltodextrin is listed in the Stage 4 ingredient panel. The vegetable oil blend includes palm oil.
DHA is present and sourced from fish oil. ARA is not included in Stage 4. The formula retains the Combiotik combination of GOS prebiotics and natural lactic acid cultures carried through the earlier Dutch stages.
Genuine European Formula, Imported for US Families
European toddler formulas are produced under tight EU food safety regulations. Organic Formula Europe imports factory-sealed cans directly from European distributors, ensuring that the product you receive is the same as what Dutch families buy locally, with no reformulation for the US market.
Cans arrive with original seals intact and an expiration date printed in European DD/MM/YYYY format. If you are planning a subscription or want to ensure continuity of supply, our team can advise on ordering frequency.
Preparation and Everyday Use
Prepare each serving fresh according to the instructions on the can. Use freshly boiled, cooled water and do not store prepared formula for later use. Powdered formula is not sterile.

Packaging at a Glance
- 800g resealable can
- Includes a measuring scoop
- European date format (DD/MM/YYYY) on the base of the can
How to Prepare Powdered Formula
- Boil fresh water for each feed and let it cool to the temperature printed on your can. Powdered infant formula is not sterile, so the CDC and WHO advise that water at about 158°F (70°C) lowers the risk of Cronobacter, especially for newborns and higher-risk infants. Follow your can's instructions and ask your pediatrician which approach is right for your baby.
- Pour about two-thirds of the required water into a clean, sterilized bottle.
- Use only the scoop provided with your formula pack (sizes may vary). Add the correct number of level scoops - 1 scoop per 1 oz / 30 ml of water.
- Close the bottle with the nipple and cap. Shake vigorously until all powder is dissolved.
- Add the remaining water and shake again.
- Cool to drinking temperature (approx. 98 °F / 37 °C). Always test the milk temperature before feeding to avoid scalding your baby.
Important Information
- Only use the scoop included in the package.
- Do not make feeds weaker or stronger than indicated. Do not add extra water, scoops, or other ingredients.
- Always prepare fresh. Do not prepare bottles in advance. Discard any leftovers after each feed.
- Never heat bottles in the microwave - hot spots can cause burns.
- Once opened, use formula within 21 days. Never use beyond the expiration date printed on the box/tin (format: day/month/year).
- Avoid storing formula in hot or humid environments.
