Holle Organic Goat Formula Stage 4 for Toddlers 12 Months and Up

Holle Organic Goat Formula Stage 4 is an EU-certified organic growing-up milk for toddlers from 12 months. Made with whole goat milk powder and manufactured in Germany by Holle, a Swiss family-run company founded in 1933, it gives families who prefer goat milk a clean, organic option as their toddler moves toward a full family diet. This stage is certified EU organic. We recommend checking in with your pediatrician before introducing a growing-up milk or making any change to your toddler's nutrition plan.

Holle: A Long History in Organic Baby Food

Founded in 1933 in Riehen, Switzerland, Holle has spent over 90 years focusing on clean organic nutrition for babies and young children. Its formulas are made in Germany using milk from farms that meet rigorous organic and biodynamic standards. The earlier stages of the Holle goat line carry full Demeter biodynamic certification.

Stage 4 is certified EU organic, which applies to growing-up milks at this age stage. All goat milk ingredients come from organic farming, and the formula is free from synthetic pesticides, fertilizers, and artificial additives.

Growing-Up Milk from 12 Months

From 12 months, toddlers are eating a wide variety of foods and their nutritional needs shift significantly. Stage 4 is a growing-up milk designed to complement a balanced toddler diet, not to serve as a primary food source. It is best used as one part of a varied meal plan.

The formula uses whole goat milk powder. Goat milk is naturally higher in A2 beta-casein protein compared to standard cow milk. Goat milk formula is not hypoallergenic, so it is not suitable for toddlers with a confirmed cow's milk protein allergy due to cross-reactivity. Ingredients and Composition

The carbohydrate blend includes lactose along with maltodextrin and starch to meet the energy needs of an active toddler. Vegetable oils are sunflower oil and rapeseed oil. This formula contains no palm oil.

DHA is provided by oil from the microalgae Schizochytrium sp. ARA is not present in Stage 4. The formula contains no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives, and all dairy ingredients are from EU-certified organic farming.

Authentic European Formula Shipped to the United States

Organic Formula Europe imports authentic Holle products directly from Europe and delivers them to families across the United States. Every can is sealed, within its full shelf life, and identical to what is sold in European organic food stores and pharmacies.

Holle's EU organic certification is issued under European regulatory standards, which are not the same as USDA organic certification but reflect an equally serious approach to organic agriculture.

Preparation and Use

Follow the preparation guide printed on the can for water temperature and powder-to-water ratios. Make each cup or bottle fresh and discard any leftovers. Clean and sterilize all equipment before each use.

Powdered formula is not sterile. Safe preparation practice is important even for toddlers.

How to Prepare Powdered Formula

  1. Boil fresh water for each feed and let it cool to the temperature printed on your can. Powdered infant formula is not sterile, so the CDC and WHO advise that water at about 158°F (70°C) lowers the risk of Cronobacter, especially for newborns and higher-risk infants. Follow your can's instructions and ask your pediatrician which approach is right for your baby.
  2. Pour about two-thirds of the required water into a clean, sterilized bottle.
  3. Use only the scoop provided with your formula pack (sizes may vary). Add the correct number of level scoops - 1 scoop per 1 oz / 30 ml of water.
  4. Close the bottle with the nipple and cap. Shake vigorously until all powder is dissolved.
  5. Add the remaining water and shake again.
  6. Cool to drinking temperature (approx. 98 °F / 37 °C). Always test the milk temperature before feeding to avoid scalding your baby.

Important Information

  1. Only use the scoop included in the package.
  2. Do not make feeds weaker or stronger than indicated. Do not add extra water, scoops, or other ingredients.
  3. Always prepare fresh. Do not prepare bottles in advance. Discard any leftovers after each feed.
  4. Never heat bottles in the microwave - hot spots can cause burns.
  5. Once opened, use formula within 21 days. Never use beyond the expiration date printed on the box/tin (format: day/month/year).
  6. Avoid storing formula in hot or humid environments.

Breast milk is the best source of nutrition for infants. Please consult your pediatrician before introducing or changing infant formula. Infant formula is designed to meet the nutritional requirements of infants according to age. It contains carbohydrates, which are an essential part of infant nutrition. As with any carbohydrate-containing liquids, frequent or prolonged contact with the teeth may increase the risk of tooth decay. To support healthy dental habits, avoid extended bottle use and encourage transitioning to a cup when age-appropriate.

Packaging may change without notice. Always follow the preparation, storage, and feeding instructions provided on your product packaging.

What makes Holle Organic Goat Formula Stage 4 different from regular toddler milk?

Holle Organic Goat Formula Stage 4 stands out because it's made with 100% organic whole goat milk from Demeter-certified farms. Compared to cow's milk formulas, goat milk naturally contains smaller fat globules and higher levels of medium-chain fatty acids, making it gentler on sensitive tummies. The formula is free from palm oil, fish oil, corn syrup, and added sugars, using only plant-based DHA and wholesome ingredients that support your toddler's nutritional needs from 12 months onwards.

Is Holle Goat Stage 4 suitable for toddlers with digestive sensitivities?

Yes, many parents find that Holle Goat Stage 4 works wonderfully for toddlers with sensitive stomachs. The naturally easier-to-digest goat milk may help reduce common digestive issues like gas, bloating, and constipation. However, it's important to note that if your child has been diagnosed with a cow's milk protein allergy, goat milk formula may not be suitable as the proteins are similar. For severe allergies, you might want to explore other Organic Formulas specifically designed for sensitive systems.

How do I prepare and store Holle Goat Stage 4 formula?

Preparing Holle Goat Stage 4 is simple and straightforward. Each box includes a specially designed measuring spoon and clear instructions. The formula dissolves easily when mixed with water at the recommended temperature, creating a creamy, delicious drink that toddlers love. Once opened, store the powder in a cool, dry place and use within 2 weeks. Always prepare fresh bottles as needed and discard any unused prepared formula after one hour at room temperature.

Can I use Holle Goat Stage 4 to replace all of my toddler's milk intake?

Holle Goat Stage 4 is designed to complement your toddler's diversified diet and can be used as a nutritious milk drink alongside solid foods. It provides essential nutrients like iron, calcium, zinc, and vitamins A, B12, C, and D that support healthy growth. While it can replace regular milk in your toddler's diet, remember that at this age, solid foods should be the primary source of nutrition. Consider exploring other Holle Toddler Formula options if you're looking for alternatives that might better suit your child's specific needs.

Why doesn't Holle Goat Stage 4 contain prebiotics or probiotics?

Holle takes a minimalist approach to formula ingredients, focusing on wholesome, organic nutrition without unnecessary additives. The formula relies on the natural benefits of whole goat milk and carefully selected organic ingredients to support your toddler's digestive health. The Demeter-certified goats graze freely on organic pastures year-round, producing milk that's naturally nutritious without the need for added prebiotics or probiotics. This clean, simple approach aligns with many parents' preferences for fewer processed ingredients in their children's nutrition.
